What is our world coming to? People are killing each other left and right in the world we live in. I can make a text to world connection to this article because it show how are country is failing.
In Las Vegas last week a man pulled a gun out and shot a up and com in rapper that then crashed into another car killing 2 more people. In the article it says, "Harris is accused of firing shots into a Maserati last Thursday, killing aspiring rapper Kenny Cherry, and causing a crash and explosion that killed two other people in a taxi at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The incidents happened on the boulevard near the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Bally's and Flamingo resorts, police told the Associated Press." This is crazy because this man had a bright future and didn't do anything to deserve his life to be ended that we they know of. This also is crazy because the guy shot him in the middle of town where people could see him and not caring about the bystanders. It also says, "Cherry, 27, was driving his Maserati when police say a shooter from the black Range Rover SUV peppered his car before it sped through a red light and smashed into a taxi, killing driver Michael Boldon, of Las Vegas, and his passenger, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund of Maple Valley, Wash.." This shows he didn't care for anyone else because he killed two people that had no involvement in the reason he killed Cherry. The two people could have had children but Harris doesn't care he just killed their parents for no reason, that is really messed up.
In the article it also says, "On Saturday afternoon, police found a black Range Rover SUV – believed to be connected to the shooting -- at an apartment complex east of the Las Vegas Strip. A SWAT team didn't find Harris at his home in the complex, but the vehicle has been impounded as evidence." The guy drove that car back to his house after the shooting which is stupid but thats the problem to many stupid people in America. This is what got him caught and gives the police more evidence to find him. the article states, "Police said the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Cherry and Harris in a valet area of the upscale Aria resort a block south of the crash scene at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road." This is a big part of our world problems because everyday people get killed over stupid stuff like this. Our world is so messed up that a man gets killed alone with two innocent people and its not that big of a deal to america because stuff like this happens everyday.
America needs to wake up because we are headed down hill because this stuff happens way to often and needs to be stopped.

Missouri teen allegedly handcuffed to pole in parents' basement for months
How could you inprison a teenager? I recently went on foxnews.com and found an article where a Missouri father doesn't think it is wrong to handcuff his 17 year old son to a pole in his basement. I can make a text to world connection to this because there are some really crazy people in this world we live in.
In the article the father withdraws his 17 year old from school in September only to lock him in their basement and feed him very little food. In the article they state, " 'I then observed a thin frail looking male getting out of the fetal position on the concrete floor around a steel support pole,' Officer Jonathan Stone wrote in the report. 'The teen was handcuffed to the pole and looked very thin for his height, with a sunken face and eyes that "had a look of desperation.' ". This is something I can relate to our world because it just shows how bad it is getting in America, this kind of stuff should never happen. The way our country is these days people do this kind of thing all the time and dont think it is wrong for them to torture their child! Later in the article it states, "He told police that his father would wake him each day at 4 a.m. to use the bathroom and give him a packet of dried oatmeal. In the afternoon, he would again be allowed to use the bathroom and would get a packet of noodles to eat. Later, he would get two bologna sandwiches and a glass of water before being locked up for the night.". That is not the way anyone should treat a child, he is a parent not a kidnapper he should be raising this kid instead of starving him. This is whats wrong with America because that boy will now think it is all right to do this and his dads parents didn't teach him it was wrong so that's why he did it.
There was another adult in the home and they didn't do anything about this problem. The article states, "Another adult in the home told police that the teen was "locked downstairs because in December they let him upstairs and he ate almost an entire bowl of fruit at one time."' That is no reason to lock this boy downstairs to a pole. The other adult should have done something soon as this happened! Also in the article they say, "The case comes several months after Kansas City police found a 32-pound girl barricaded inside a closet that reeked of urine. That child's mother is scheduled for trial in June on assault, child abuse and child endangerment charges. The mother's 35-year-old boyfriend pleaded guilty in October to endangering the child and was sentenced to five years' probation." This is crazy because it shows people do this kind of thing all the time. The police should give the parents 25 years in prision instead of 5 years probation and let them know what it feels like to be locked up.
Once again this article shows how messed up our country is getting. When parents can lock their children up with no food or water and feel right about it they should have the same thing done to them. The government needs to crack down on this and not let the people get off with just a slap on the wrist. I really hope our country gets better but it doesn't look like it is going to happen.
