Jeremy Clements suspended indefinitely by NASCAR

What is Racism? Is it something our world takes to seriously? Well Nascar takes it really serious when a racist remake is made. I can make a text to self connection to this because I race and I have accidently made racist remakes myself.

Jeremy Clements the Nationwide driver was Indefintely suspended by NASCAR for a racist remark made while talking to a reporter. In a report on wesh.com it says, "Nationwide Series driver Jeremy Clements has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR for the apparent use of a racial slur during an interview last weekend with a reporter at Daytona International Speedway." This is the same day as he was involved in a big crash so he was very mad and in a bad mood. I understand how mad he was because after someone wrecks you it makes your tempers flare. In another part they say, "NASCAR officials refused to discuss the incident, saying only that Clements uttered an "intolerable and insensitive remark" that violated the sport's Code of Conduct for actions detrimental to stock car racing. NASCAR's rule book prohibits "public statement" if it criticizes, disparages or ridicules individual(s) for color, creed, race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, handicapped condition or marital status." This is in the rule book that he has read and he should accept the conquences that come with his remark. They should give him a warning for his first offence but NASCAR has the right to do whatever they want with their series.

This isn't any reason to kick him out forever. In the article it says, "Clements released a statement that said, 'I apologize and regret what I said to the NASCAR writer and to NASCAR, my sponsors, my fans, and my team.'" This shows how sorry he is for what he said and NASCAR should take that in and give him another chance. Luckily I'm not in NASCAR or the same thing may of happened to me because they don't care but he was really sorry so they should rethink his suspension. also he says, "I will not get into specifics of what I said, but my comment to the writer was in no way meant to be disrespectful or insensitive to anyone or to be detrimental to NASCAR or the NASCAR Nationwide Series. I will do what I need to do in order to atone for my error in judgment.'' This shows it was a spur of the moment deal and he didn't mean it. I have done the same thing he did hear but NASCAR took this in a bad way and this is why they should let him back in.

Jeremy Clements is a great driver and should be reinstated to NASCAR because his remark was accidental. I know a lot of people disagree but he should get another chance and I will cheer him on all the way.
